Star Gazer
I painted this winter scene using oil paints. It shows how beautiful and colorful the Northern Lights are in Alaska. I was not planning to put one of my fur-sculptured animals in the painting, but every time I looked at it I imagined seeing a wolf howling in the night. That inspired me to design and create my first wolf. I used a piece of caribou pelt for the wolf and pieces of Dall sheep pelt for the snow.
The frame is a 16"x 20" solid oak
oval, with bubble glass to protect the artwork.
